This study, Issues of Ethical Challenges in Facebook Journalism in Nigeria, evaluates some of the perceived ethical challenges involved in social media journalism. The study made use of an online survey research method, through the distribution of a structured research questionnaire. It adopted the Information Diffusion Theory (IDT) which is a social communication process through which new ideas, technologies, products, or processes spread among the members of a particular social system via specific communication channels over time. The study concluded that actually Facebook journalism in Nigeria is inundated with varieties of ethical challenges, which include fake news, falsification of facts and figures, plagiarism, exposing of news sources, among others, all of which, if ignored, will affect the reputation of the journalism industry adversely. Hence the study recommends that every intending online journalist must be trained in the journalism way, all facts must also be confirmed before news stories are accepted online, government and other statutory bodies should also enact enabling laws to control the activities of Facebook journalists.
