During the course of the 20th century, the world witnessed tremendous growth, not only in production, but also in international trade. However, this tremendous increase in industrial output has brought in its wake several undesirable effects, of which atmospheric pollution with the attendant consequences of climate change is one. This phenomenon has led to several world Conferences of Parties (COPs) on Climate Change (Twenty-one as from 1995; for now). From these meetings, a policy on how to curb the effects of climate change has emerged (the Kyoto Protocol). How to implement this policy among countries has generated a lot of political interpretations. Hence, the focus of this paper is to unravel the policy and politics of this climate change. It is also to review the preparedness of Nigeria in addressing the Climate Change Conundrum. The opinion research design was adopted for this study. Data for the study were derived basically from secondary sources from which my analysis was derived.
