Violence in recent times has become endemic in society. Hence it has become a source of concern to all well-meaning indigenes, NGOs (local and international) and the government. Media advocacy as an instrument is a veritable tool to curbing violence. This study sought to explore media advocacy in reducing violence. The study adopted the survey research design. The instrument for data collection was the interview. Data was presented and analysed in a qualitative format. The study found that media advocacy is a potential instrument that can be used to curb violence in society. Based on the findings, the study recommended that government, advocacy groups (NGOs) and community institutional structures should adopt media advocacy as a tool in curbing violence in society.
